Job Summary
The Cook is in charge of preparing food for passengers and sailors, adhering to established safety and sanitation standards. The cook must be a self-motivated leader who can be creative when necessary, handle pressure, and coordinate with the entire galley team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare food according to recipes and menus in a timely manner
- Ensure all snacks and meals are prepared with the highest quality standards
- Maintain Food sanitation standards while adhering to safe food handling practices
- Monitor inventory of supplies and restock as needed
- Ensure any leftovers are stored properly and in a timely manner
- Participate in orientation and training of new team members
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with passengers
- Assist other team members when needed
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of experience working as a cook
- Strong knowledge of safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to multi-task and stay organized
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work well with others in a team environment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Able to work in a hot, loud, and humid environment
