Job Description

Job Summary

The Cook is in charge of preparing food for passengers and sailors, adhering to established safety and sanitation standards. The cook must be a self-motivated leader who can be creative when necessary, handle pressure, and coordinate with the entire galley team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare food according to recipes and menus in a timely manner
  • Ensure all snacks and meals are prepared with the highest quality standards
  • Maintain Food sanitation standards while adhering to safe food handling practices
  • Monitor inventory of supplies and restock as needed
  • Ensure any leftovers are stored properly and in a timely manner
  • Participate in orientation and training of new team members
  • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with passengers
  • Assist other team members when needed


  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience working as a cook
  • Strong knowledge of safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work well with others in a team environment

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Able to work in a hot, loud, and humid environment

  • Some companies might require a medical certificate or police clearance
