Job Summary

The Chief Engineer is responsible for all aspects of engineering operations onboard the vessel, including ship maintenance, engineering design, development, project management, and personnel administration.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the engineering personnel onboard, including motivating and supervising the team to meet safety, reliability, and efficiency objectives
• Ensure that all engineering equipment, systems, and components are functioning safely and efficiently
• Create engineering plans and related programs to ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations
• Develop technical training programs for engineering personnel
• Monitor and inspect work performed by engineering personnel
• Partner with other department heads to ensure overall vessel operations meet established standards

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Chief Engineer on Bulkers
• Extensive knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and regulations
• Proficiency in advanced computer applications and software such
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills

Physical Requirements

• Ability to remain standing and/or seated for long periods of time
• Ability to tolerate extreme temperatures
• Ability to climb ladders and move around the entire vessel
• Preferably an age limit of up to 50 years
