FUNCTIONS
- To perform received orders in a safe and responsible manner
- To assist OOW during watch duties
- To perform vessel steering at request under OOW supervision
- To perform duties according to his qualification
- To keep in good order materials under his control
- To assist taking on board materials and provisions
- To participate in all professional and safety trainings
- To know bosun duties, and to be ready to replace him
- To know main characteristics of the vessel, compartment, tanks deck equipments, performances and limits for the above mentioned
- To perform activities to prepare vessel for arrival, departure, loading, discharging or manoeuvring, under supervision of the chief operation
- To perform duties according to his qualification as manoeuvring, maintenance of the ladder, life boats, lifesaving and firefighting appliances, keep in good order castle decks, specially bridge, chartroom, a.s.o.
- To assist preparing of loading equipments, hatchcovers system, hold vents, and to report any malfuction or damage discovered to the ch. Mate
- To assist any operation with the ladders or accomodations and to make sure that pilot is embarked in a safe manner
- To participate in all cleaning and maintenance operation of the vessel, decks, castle and holds
- To know safety and firefighting appliances, their position, how to use them according to situation
- To perform any other duties requested by ch. Mate or OOW
