Job Summary

A 3rd Engineer is needed to join the marine team of a global maritime company. The successful candidate will be in charge of operating and maintaining all the vessels’ engines and associated systems, as well as keeping track of compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and repair main engines, pumps, compressors, generators, turbines and other mechanical and electrical equipment
• Ensure that the vessels are complaint with all applicable regulations
• Oversee repairs and maintenance activities
• Monitor navigational equipment and safety systems of the vessel
• Conduct engine room management and control
• Act as an environmental protection officer onboard
• Provide guidance and training to junior engineers
• Any other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in ship engineering
• Advanced knowledge in engine operations and control room systems
• Proficiency in the use of communication and navigation equipment
• Extremely hands-on and detail-oriented
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Familiar with maritime rules and regulations

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform duties while standing and climbing ladders
• Perform duties in tight spaces for extended periods of time
• Move large items routinely
